National and International

The Freemasons' Grand Charity

Large sums are donated by Freemasons to national and international charities. For example, The Freemasons' Grand Charity has contributed significantly to recent disasters around the world through its close ties with the UK's Disasters Emergency Committee and the Red Cross. This ensures that charitable donations reach their intended recipients and are put to good use. Since 1981 The Freemasons' Grand Charity has donated nearly £50 million to charities with no masonic connection. All of that money has been raised from Freemasons and their families.

Masonic charities also support hospices, the RNLI, Air Ambulances, vulnerable people, medical research, youth opportunities and many needy individuals - all of which has recently become even more significant in the times of austerity into which we are moving.

In addition to supporting these national and international charities, masons in Berkshire donate generously to local good causes.
