The Education Committee is running two seminars in November, both of which are exciting, challenging and very useful to anyone who has difficulty in speaking in public or learning ritual.
Thursday 13th November Effective Speaking in Public
This one evening seminar is intended to assist brethren who are not confident with public speaking. It will include learning skills that may assist when delivering ritual in lodge. It will also assist in helping overcome the nerves most of us feel when having to stand at the Festive Board and propose a toast. Brethren who attended last year said that it was ‘awesome, superb, thoroughly interesting and practical’ and that it was ‘very well presented’.
Thursday 27th November 2014: Learning the Ritual: a personal approach
The aim of this evening is not to teach ritual or practice it – that is for Lodges of Instruction. This evening is to give ideas on how to learn and remember the ritual. There will be an explanation of techniques that can be used together with some practical exercises. This seminar involves (according to one attendee) ‘sex and moon walking bears’! Others described it as being ‘excellent, very helpful, with good exercises and providing a number of very valuable tips’. This seminar is limited to 60 attendees – last time 96 applied so book early to avoid disappointment!
We are very fortunate that in Berkshire Masonry we have some very skilled trainers who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise with the brethren. For more information and to book please complete the form on the Training Events page or contact the Secretary. We look forward to welcoming you to one or both seminars.
