Meetings: Held at the Masonic Hall, Clarendon Gardens, London Road, Newbury, on the third Thursday in September, October, November, January, February, March and April.
Our Lodge includes members from a wide variety of educational and professional backgrounds, as well as a good mix of men from local families and those who have moved into the area due to work circumstances. While there is no formal link to St Bartholomew’s School, one or two of our current members fondly recollect their time in education from the school and, over the years, a number of alumni have found a place in St Bartholomew Lodge.
St Bartholomew actively endorses and respects that individuals come to Masonry for a variety of reasons and recognises this through support for their brethren in their Masonic journey. St Bartholomew Lodge encourages visiting other Lodges far and wide; we have particularly close links to St Edmund lodge in Abingdon. We also regularly entertain visitors from many other parts of the country. We believe that such links build Masonry and assist in demonstrating to masons and non-masons alike how rewarding and enjoyable Masonry can be.
The Lodge acts as a progressive lodge and encourages Masons from the earliest stage of their Masonic journey to make inputs into Lodge life from taking part in our formal meetings in the temple right through to voting on Lodge matters at General Purposes Committee. We pride ourselves on ensuring that everyone, new or old, is respected and has a unique contribution to play in the life of St Bartholomew Lodge,
Whatever it is that you wish to take from Masonry and whether you are currently a mason or looking for something new and rewarding, we are sure that the friendly atmosphere at St Bartholomew Lodge will enable you to enhance and enjoy your journey in life.
