‘Kennet-On-Tour’ is a group of young Masons who are members of Kennet Lodge 4414. They consist mainly of Master Masons who have joined Kennet Lodge over the last two or three years along with some past masters too. After eight years of suggestions, cajoling and discussions they decided to spread their wings further afield and made the trip to the Province of South Wales to visit The Tenby Lodge
The visit occurred over a weekend at the end of October. The Sunday was a very social occasion. Tenby look enticing in the autumn sunlight, so a few beers were consumed and the memorial gardens, sponsored by Tenby Lodge were admired.
Monday was another fine day and before the Lodge meeting in the afternoon everyone enjoyed a challenging and entertaining day that had been organised by Paul Watson. Everyone joined in go karting, Archery Laser clay pigeon shooting, crazy golf, and the biggest commercial Scalextric racetrack you’ve every soon. Competition was fierce, the camaraderie superb and the stomachs ached from so much laughter.
After the day’s activities were over, the more formal part of the tour started: Tenby Lodge was opened at 7pm and a superb second degree ceremony, with over 50 people in attendance, was carried out. Prior to the meeting, however, The Kennet Lodge bought and donated two kegs of beer to Tenby Lodge to help the evening move along in fine fashion and help raise funds for the charity of choice of the Wm of Tenby; over £100 was raised from this.
