The Masonic Classic Vehicle Club held the first of a series of informal Sunday Breakfast Meets on Sunday May 19 at “Zest at Lime Square”, a restaurant near Reading just by the Madjeski Stadium (half-a-mile from junc.11 of the M4).
The morning was warm and sunny and the coffee and bacon butties were excellent. Gerry Hann (1954 Bentley Continental) took his dog Nellie who seemed to enjoy wandering around and ’talking’ to everyone. Phil Cottrell had his ’C’ Type Jaguar (replica) there and towards the end of the morning a few of the visitors enjoyed a quick blast around the estate roads in the passenger seat – once they had negotiated the lack of a door, and a compact passenger compartment. Also on display were a MGB Roadster; a Mercedes 300SL; a Rover 95; a TR6; a Lotus Elan; a Triumph Spitfire; a Triumph Stag and a Beauford Open Tourer.
A further Sunday Breakfast Meet was held on Sunday July 7, again at Zest at Lime Square. The local Thames Valley branch of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club were invited to attend as guests.
John Cole, Secretary of the MCVC said “We always look forward to seeing as many MCVC members, with their cars (and dogs!) as possible.
