Wokingham charity receives over £5,000 from Berkshire Freemasons

Building for the Future, a Wokingham based parent led charity received £5,500 from Aldworth Lodge as part of their yearly lodge charity appeal.

Building for the Future, a Wokingham based charity set up in 2007. In 2014 they opened Our House, which provides an accessible play centre for children with any disability or additional need. They offer a range of activities, support and therapy for children of all ages along with their families and friends. Last year they were winners of the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.

Aldworth Lodge, whose members are drawn from The Reading Blue Coat School, also awarded prizes to a number of pupils and old boys who have made a significant contribution to charitable causes as well as making donations to their chosen charities.

Jane Holmes, who started Building for the Future said: “We are delighted to accept this donation from the members of Aldworth Lodge.  This, together with an earlier grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation, has made a significant contribution to our fundraising for this year.”

Julian Pacey, a senior member of Aldworth Lodge said: “Building for the Future is an excellent charity and our Lodge is very happy to help raise funds for such a worth while cause.  I must also congratulate the pupils and old boys who were awarded prizes for the charitable work: its fantastic to see the effort they’ve put in this year.”
